'Stopover' doesn't do it justice; Singapore is a whole holiday in itself. Vibrant, exotic and colourful - and that's just the breakfast buffet.
Singapore loves its food, and especially its shopping. All kinds of buildings here - but they're almost all shopping centres.
Visiting Raffles Hotel tonight for the mandatory Singapore Sling, then a night safari tomorrow (a chance for real nocturnal animals to study us pretend ones).
Then to NZ - just another 5,000 miles and five time-zones. Some big questions as we set out: Will New Zealand live up to expectations? Will we enjoy the motorhome lifestyle? Will Barclaycard catch up with us?
Meanwhile, a special tribute and thank-you to Alan Bannister, for setting up this blog and patiently explaining how to use it.
Watch this space!
Thanks for the update from Singapore - wonderful to know you are on your way now!
ReplyDeleteWill e mail you later with a match report from the game today- thanks again for the use of your season tickets during your NZ journey. I will update your friends in the Cathedral Lounge this afternoon who will be keen to hear about your progress!
On the ball, City!

Hey, it works! Great to hear from you and see the Blog growing.
ReplyDeleteTwo things to do in Singapore if you get time, and in addition to the classic tourist spots.
We really enjoyed the Botanical Gardens particularly the orchid garden with thousands of plants growing in the open.
The other was to take the cable gondola over to the island of Sentosa. Althogh there are lots of 'paid for' things to do there, we went in the evening when it was quieter and enjoyed the trip over to the island, followed by wondering around being surprised by the amusing water features and other gentle entertainments.
